What is the working title of your next book?
“Camera Action…Murder!”
Where did the idea come from for the book?
I have written three other novels in the Diana Rivers mystery suspense murder series, Camera Action Murder! is the fourth novel. I must say to readers that although they are a series you can read them in any order.
What genre does your book fall under?
Mystery/Suspense/Thriller.
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
When Diana Rivers and soul-mate, Steve are invited to a reunion of fellow actors at a famous country house, murder and mayhem were the last thing on their minds!
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
This book, like my others will be published by Topsails Charter on Amazon.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
Two to three months.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
The ‘Murder she Wrote’ series, some Agatha Christie and the fantastic PD James.
Who or What inspired you to write this book?
My husband and family are constantly urging me to write more and my fans of course. The idea for Camera Action…Murder! came out of the blue. My female sleuth, Diana Rivers is always getting into hot water – this time when she is part of a film-shoot, one of the stars is killed. Diana of course suspects murder and she is…right.
What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
I always try and set my stories in either a country or part of England that appeals to a universal audience. I feel the setting is very important. Lush, exotic and interesting places add to the overall feel and telling of the story. For instance “The Assassins’ Village” is set in Cyprus where I live part of the year. Children of the Plantation takes place in 1950’s and present day Malaysia where I spent part of my childhood. “The Surgeon’s Blade” settings are Southampton in Hampshire, England and London. Camera Action….Murder! Is staged in the beautiful Cotswold Hills near Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.
Here are some lovely authors I’ve tagged to tell you about what they’re working on. Look for their posts and consider trying…their Next Big Thing!
