They say time passes when you’re having fun – and this year has certainly flown. I can’t believe it is less than seven weeks until Christmas day!
As usual, I’ve been kept busy. In the spring I was involved in a major musical production, singing and dancing as well as acting. An amazing experience! Last month I was chosen for my first professional appearance in a commercial. I never knew it took so many people to make a 30-second advertisement (over 30), and it was quite an adventure being ‘on-stage’ with cameras zooming around all over the place. I can’t wait to see the finished result – due any day.
Of course writing takes the majority of my time and 2013 has been brilliant! You might recall I’ve written three books this year, A Very French Affair, Childhunt, Devil’s Brae AND now, my latest & fourth release, On Christmas Hill – A Seasonal Affair.
Although I'm primarily a mystery suspense writer, I am astounded that A Very French Affair (Romance & Drama) has been my top selling book over the summer in the UK – and it still is. So, people obviously like my more romantic stories – and I’m delighted to have added another string to my bow.
A word of warning – my romance books are NOT mushy or pornographic…although there are some love scenes, which I endeavour to keep tasteful. I enjoy creating characters with which we can all empathise, recognise our own similar traits; heartache, happiness and simply, life.
Here is a short description of the new book:
On Christmas Hill. It is a few weeks before Christmas and everyone except Catherine seems to be gearing up for the big day with excitement.
Catherine, a single mum, is struggling to bring up her five year old daughter. She has little time for romance, and when she learns she has lost her job and her flat is deemed inhabitable, she wonders just what else life is about to fling at her.
Where or to whom can she turn to for help? Kismet in the shape of handsome, bachelor, Jack Darcy aka Father Christmas is at hand. But can she trust the handsome stranger who seems to know a great deal about her private life?
When Catherine finds a forty year old letter hidden in a village post office and seeks to reunite the letter with the addressee, little does she know what part she will play in the affair or how circumstances change her very existence. Will she find that perfect love which so far has eluded her?
